Region 8, Mid-Coast School of Technology

The community, family and friends are invited to attend the local Skills USA Competitions and Demonstrations Open House at MCST on Wednesday, January 11, 2012.  Skills USA is a national partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.

Competitions and Demonstrations in program areas will occur from 3:30-6:30 PM with awards presentations at 6:45 PM.  Winning students will compete at the Maine State Skills USA competitions later this year with the opportunity to compete at Nationals and earn scholarships.

All visitors will have a chance to win door prizes such as an embroidered Carhartt hooded sweatshirt, embroidered t-shirt, and MCST hat.  In addition, there will be various raffles, including the chance to win a “luxury” chicken coop built by our own Residential Carpentry program. There will be pizza and other light refreshments served for a donation.  All proceeds from this event will go to support the Skills USA program at MCST.
