Three core courses in Social Studies are offered to students in order that they become responsible citizens and decision-makers in the twenty-first century. US History I and II is designed to help students understand the origins and events that shaped our nation. Senior Social Studies includes American Government and Economics. American Government focuses on federal, state, and local governments as well as the rights and responsibilities as US citizens. Economics provides students with the knowledge of economic principles and their impact on everyday life. World History examines the significance of important people, places, and events of the world in our past. A literacy component using literary selections/readings is an integral part of each course of study.
