Region 8, Mid-Coast School of Technology

 

The North Haven Vocational Arts Program offers a shop with large power tools ( band saw, chop saw, power planer, drill press, table saw, and a wood lathe ) as well as hand held power tools and non-powered hand tools. We teach the safe use of these tools in a variety of woodworking projects.

Each year we offer woodworking projects of a students' own choice or a student may join a larger project such as boat building or furniture building.

Additionally, this 2009-10 school year we are  rearticulating the skeleton of a 15 foot Pilot Whale. We will fasten together the bones using steel, epoxy and a variety of tools to create a unique museum specimen. Accompanying this, research will be conducted on the biology.
