Hospitality - Culinary Arts
Charles Butler has over 22 years of experience in the food service Industry. After graduating from Southern Maine Community College with degrees in Culinary Arts and Hotel, Motel, & Restaurant Management he worked to become a Certified Executive Chef with the American Culinary Federation. In his years as a chef he was twice given the title of Maine Lobster Chef of the Year at the Blaine House in Augusta. A few years were spent working with a food service distributor as a Territory Manager where he received the Rising Star Award. Most recently he had been a School Nutrition Director where he worked to increase the access and acceptability of nutritious school meals. While working in the schools as a nationally credentialed School Nutrition Specialist he received the Director of the Year Award from the Maine School Nutrition Association.
