Intro to Applied Technology Instructor

I have spent the last twenty-three years teaching high school students, adults and displaced workers the design/drafting/CAD skills needed to obtain an entry-level position in engineering and/or continue their education in this field. Prior to coming to MCST, I taught Drafting/CAD and Pre-engineering for 20 years in a Career & Technical Education Center in southern Maine and 2 years in Technology Education classes at an academic high school.

Prior to teaching I worked 15+ years in the civil and mechanical engineering fields. The last firm that I worked with was a small (15-20 person) civil and wastewater engineering firm located in Falmouth, Maine which was soon purchased by T. Y. Lin International. T. Y. Lin’s main office was located in San Francisco with offices also located in seven other places in the United States and six places in the Pacific Rim, with a total personnel count of 900+. At the time they were ranked the 5th largest engineering firm in the world.

Working for and becoming part of an international engineering firm had its difficulties at times, but the merger allowed the personnel located in Maine exposure to large and very diversified projects that would never have been possible prior to the merger.

I presently hold a BS; an MS; a Letter of Completion in STEM; a Certificate of Completion in Small Boat & Yacht Design and am presently working on a Certificate in Engineering Education at Tufts University.

In my time off, I enjoy working on our new house in Thomaston, sailing/boating, quilting, counted-cross stitching, gardening, training our dogs and spending time with my husband.
