CTE Exploratory Instructor
I began teaching the Intro to Applied Technology program at Mid-Coast in the Fall of 2016, after having taught Drafting/CAD and Pre-engineering for 20 years in a Career & Technical Education Center in southern Maine and 2 years teaching Technology Education classes at an academic high school.
Prior to teaching I worked 13 years in the civil engineering field at a small (15-20 person) civil and wastewater engineering firm located in Falmouth, Maine which was soon purchased by T. Y. Lin International. T. Y. Lin’s main office was located in San Francisco with offices also located in seven other places in the United States and six places in the Pacific Rim. Working for, and becoming part of an international engineering firm had its difficulties at times, but the merger allowed the personnel located in Maine exposure to large and very diversified projects that would never have been possible prior to the merger.
I presently hold a BS; an MS; a Letter of Completion in STEM; and a Certificate of Completion in Small Boat & Yacht Design. I hold teaching endorsements in Industrial Arts/Technology (K-12), Cooperative Education Industrial Training (9-12), General Drafting (9-12), Business Admin. & Management (9-12) and a Conditional Endorsement in Dir. Adult & Comm. Education (K-12). In June of 2016 I was named “Teacher of the Year” by the Maine Composite Alliance
In my time off I enjoy quilting, counted-cross stitching, gardening, and learning to knit & crochet.
