Auto Collision Repair Instructor
My name is Danica Wooster, and I am the Auto Collision instructor at MCST. Not only am I the teacher, I am also a successful graduate of this program.
Upon my graduation, I attended Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, Wyoming. There, I completed an Associate's Degree in Occupational Studies with a focus in collision repair, as well as automotive refinishing, and interior trim and upholstery.
After returning to Maine, I spent three years working at a local collision shop in the Mid-Coast area. My jobs there included collision repair and refinishing, as well as estimating, and vehicle sales.
I have spent the last ten years working in the Greater Portland area at a major collision repair facility. I started as a painter's helper, became a collision technician, and spent several years as a lead technician. The shop is an I-CAR Gold Class shop, and a direct repair facility for many top insurance companies, including Geico and State Farm. While there, I attended Kaplan University on a part-time basis, and in August 2011, completed my Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration.
Over the years, I have discovered in myself a true love of learning. Teaching has given me not only the opportunity to educate my students, but myself as well. I have enjoyed the challenges of working in a collision shop environment, but have found teaching to be my true calling.
