I ran my first weld bead in 1978 in a very small high school in Northwest Kansas, and soon learned that it was a skill that others were willing to pay you to perform. Upon graduation I went to work in the oilfields of Oklahoma, and in 1986, I joined the US Navy where I attended welding and later Non Destructive Testing of Welding Schools. After 2 tours in the Navy, I attended Tarrant County Junior College in Arlington, Texas, studying Industrial Hygiene. I have been an American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Instructor (CWI) since 1996. I have worked both in the welding fabrication industry and taught welding on the college level in Kansas.
My wife is a native Mainer from Camden, and after 28 years of her following me around the country, she decided it was time to come home and show this flatlander the way life is meant to be. Our son and his family live in Camden, so I had no choice but to pack up and follow. Teaching the Welding Program here at MCST is the perfect place for me to pass on the knowledge and skills that I posses to the next generation of welder that will keep America rolling.
